Stronger Together!: An Examination of Conference Themes Across National, Regional, and State Library Organizations

Abstract

A conference theme sets the tone for attendees and speakers of the conference. The authors hypothesized that national, regional, and state library organizations frequently planned conferences surrounding a theme. This research examined the prevalence of conference themes across national, regional, and state library organizations to determine the accuracy of this hypothesis. Findings show that most library conferences have a theme.  Further examination using textual analysis showed that there were clear trends in the assignation of themes to a conference by library organizations.
